Feature — Transcription

Search the words, not just the numbers.

Callnsight’s transcription pipeline turns a recording into text, so a call becomes something you can read and search, not only listen to. When it switches on for customer accounts, you’ll find a call by a phrase the way you find one by a number.

Beta

In beta. Transcription is built and runs in production, but it is not yet switched on for customer accounts, and its accuracy is still being validated against real call audio — so no plan transcribes today. This page describes what it will do when it lands; it arrives at Starter first, and the Trial gets it with them.

What transcription will add

A call you can read
A written transcript will sit beside the recording, so you can scan a conversation in seconds instead of replaying it end to end.
Search what was said
Once it is switched on, a fragment of a sentence will find the call the same way a fragment of a number does — the words become as searchable as the digits.
Your provider, your choice
Two transcription drivers ship — Deepgram and an OpenAI-compatible endpoint — and Enterprise accounts can bring their own provider key and contract with the provider directly.
Priced when you can use it
Transcription arrives at Starter first, with a monthly allowance of transcribed minutes and a published per-minute rate beyond it. The Trial is Starter for thirty days, so it gets the same. We’ll publish the entry allowance when you can actually use it.

How it will work

  1. Already happening

    Recordings are synced and stored

The audio transcription needs is the audio Callnsight already pulls off your PBX and stores — there is nothing new to connect.

  2. In beta

    The recording is transcribed

A queued job sends the audio to your transcription provider and stores the returned text against the call. This runs in production today, for our own accounts only, while accuracy is validated.

  3. When it lands

    The transcript becomes searchable

The text joins the call in search, so a phrase finds the recording. Follow-along — highlighting each word as it plays — is still on the way.

Questions

Can I transcribe my calls today?
Not yet. Transcription is built and runs in production, but it is not switched on for customer accounts, so no plan transcribes today. It is in beta while its accuracy is validated against real call audio.
When it lands, which plans include transcription?
It arrives at Starter first, with a monthly allowance of transcribed minutes and a published per-minute rate beyond that. The Trial is Starter for thirty days, so it gets the same allowance.
Which transcription providers are supported?
Two drivers ship today: Deepgram, and an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Enterprise accounts can supply their own provider key and contract with the provider directly.
Does this include call analysis — summaries or sentiment?
No. Transcription produces text and stops there. Call analysis — summaries, sentiment, topic detection — is not built yet; it is the next thing after transcription is out of beta.
